Some information about me
I was a chef for much of my working life, this allowed me to get to know a diverse mix of people and cultures. It gave me a rich view on life, and an acceptance of all the people that I share it with.
This and some major traumatic life experiences provided me with a unique insight into physical and emotional suffering, increasing and informing my empathic responses to all types of pain or torment.
My life experiences led me to train as a counsellor, I truly felt my life and outlook on life had changed because of those experiences, and I made the decision that I wanted to help others get through their troubling times.
I trained in Oxfordshire for five years and gained a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, my learning is continuous and always will be.
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), this means I adhere to a strict code of conduct called the BACP Ethical Framework. This ensures all legal and moral duties including confidentiality are paramount.
During my time as a counsellor, I have worked for the Parenting Project charity as one of their counsellors in Warwickshire, at the Ashcroft Centre in Deddington Oxfordshire and Banbury Therapy Centre helping clients work through a wide variety of life issues and am now in private practice at North Bar House in Banbury Oxfordshire
